RSM Does Not Recognize
Changes in Media Slots Inside a Library
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article: 250916 - If
you manually swap media without using Removable
Storage Manager (RSM), a program may not detect
the correct media. The media cannot be mounted
and RSM starts an inventory for each piece of

media that's still in the library as in the offline
media location. For each piece of media that is
miscataloged in this way there is a new piece
of media in the import pool. This issue can occur
because RSM recognizes two pieces of media as
exact duplicates.
